Be active for International CMT Awareness Month.

Show you’ve got nerve!image

A few years ago, member Donna DeWick came up with the idea of “Got Nerve” raising funds for CMTA, and asking people to be active for Awareness Month. Well, we like this idea, and this year, we’ll be collaborating with CMTA to really make a splash!

This event will be launched in the run up to Awareness Month and by joining this event, you commit to do (at least) a mile of activity (or equivalent) in September 2016, either all at once or across the month, in whatever activity you choose. Swim, wheel, ride, walk, paddle or run to show that you’ve got nerve and that you support the search for a cure for CMT, the most common hereditary neuropathy impacting 1 in 2500 people.

You can buy a special Got Nerve T-Shirt in our webshop, and all the profits from these t-shirts (approximately £7 per shirt) will go into our research fund to help find a cure for CMT.  They are Royal Blue with the Got Nerve logo on the reverse and the hashtag on the front and they are now available to pre-order at our webshop.   They will be despatched to you during week commencing 15th August

In addition to this, we would like you to turn your activity into a fundraiser, and link it to our “Beating CMT” campaign to get us nearer to our goals! https://campaign.justgiving.com/charity/cmt/beat-cmt

Register your interest on the Facebook event page .   And Please share your questions, photos and stories with us on social media!  https://www.facebook.com/events/1798630850369155/?ti=icl

Twitter & Instagram: use the hashtag #GotNerve4CMT during the month of September (or any other time!) to share selfies, stories, and miles! There will be prizes for various categories, like the most inspirational person, the most raised etc.

If you just want to make a donation, rather than getting a t-shirt, just go to the campaign link above, and make a direct donation! It all helps push our fundraising that little bit closer to being able to fund some serious Research!
