Becoming a member of CMTUK means joining a family of people who truly understand what life with Charcot-Marie-Tooth is like. You’ll get access to support, information, and a safe place to connect – and at the same time, you’ll be helping us keep doing what we do for thousands of others.
You can pick up the phone or drop us an email any time you need a bit of help. Our friendly helpline team really gets CMT – and whether you just want to chat, ask about symptoms, or need advice for a carer, school, or employer, we’re here.
Benefits and support systems can be a maze. As a member, we’ll guide you through things like PIP, Universal Credit, Attendance Allowance, Blue Badges, and Council Tax reductions so you don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
From physiotherapy and orthotics to what schools need to know about CMT, we share clear, helpful information you can actually use.
You’ll be first to hear about our annual conference with CMT specialists, health and wellbeing days, and social events. Members can even send in questions for expert Q&A sessions.
We run camps, trips, and fun online communities just for young people with CMT. It’s a safe space to make friends, have fun, and know they’re not the only ones going through this.
Get access to our members-only Facebook groups, parent and carer groups, and regional support meetups (in person or online). These groups are brilliant for sharing tips, swapping experiences, and just feeling less alone.
Every member receives a CMT Alert Card – handy for medical appointments or emergencies to explain your condition quickly.
Membership is donation-based – we suggest £30 a year (or £3 a month), but if that’s tricky, just give what you can. Every membership helps us keep our helplines open, run events, and fund research.
Joining only takes a few minutes:
Discover who we are, what CMTUK stands for, and how we support people living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth across the UK.
Explore the latest CMT research, clinical trials, and how we’re driving progress toward better treatments and understanding.
Find fun, safe spaces for children and young people with CMT to connect, share experiences, and build lifelong friendships.
CMTUK is completely funded by donations, so your membership really does matter.
Together, we can keep supporting people with CMT, raising awareness, and pushing for better treatments and a cure.
